Since the dawn of history, and presumably before then as well, our success as individuals, and therefore our success as a species, has depended on "human interaction". This is because a group of people is stronger than the sum of the individuals. The transactions between people -- the give and take -- strengthens the group, and, on the average, it strengthens the individuals, too. That's why, competitive though we are, we interact with one another for the most part peacefully, to gain an individual advantage.
