The McRae Family History is a topic that I've become more interested in as I get closer to becoming a part of it <grin>.   That's why I picked the name "mcraeclan.com" as my domain name -- that, and the fact that "mcrae.com" was already taken.

Before I go off on too many tangents, I need to tell you some things.  First, I want to explain some things about links, so click here.   Second, in case you stumbled on this site thinking it was The Clan MacRae Society site, well it isn't.

Now, for the Family History . . .

The Ian and Blanche Story --  My dad wrote this is the story of about his parents, who lived in Australia.  It contains a lot of information about various McRae's who figure into our family tree, as well as some friends and family members -- and it's searchable.  Check it out!

A book called History of the Clan Macrae was written about a hundred years ago by Rev. Alexander Macrae, B. A.  In that book, the generations of the clan are numbered starting with Fionnla Dubh Mac Gillechriosd as generation 1.  Starting in December, 1998, I began posting the book on this web site.  This is a work in progress -- barely started, in fact -- but with enough of a start you might find it interesting.  Join the Clan Macrae Newsletter mailing list or click here to start.
