I was in Best Buy the other day
with a coupon for a CD player that won't skip even if it bounces around quite a bit.
When I saw the package, I noticed it had everything I needed to convert my car's
cassette player into a CD player. I also had a coupon for 15% off any three CD's.
(I think they limit the offer to three CD's so you won't just buy one -- after all,
an impulse-buying dope like me can't resist "going to the limit", right?)
So I bought my CD player and one CD: Shania Twain,
"Come on Over".
I connected all the gizmos I needed, and turned up the volume -- Wow,
my tinny little car radio sure sounds great! Makes me wonder why the radio sounds so
lousy. Maybe it's the radio station (sorry KTPI).
Nick Duerden, of
Emap Consumer Magazines says "this third album is almost unforgivably bland. Produced
by her husband, it's full of clinical ballads and contrived stompers, shot through more
with competence than any real conviction. MOR doesn't get much more MOR than this."
Well, let me tell you, I really enjoy those stompers, contrived or
not! Click each of these stompers to hear five or ten seconds -- you'll get an idea
what I mean:
Don't Be Stupid (You Know I Love You)
