The Hidden Fly  (400 Points)

Find the letters that end and begin each set of words.  Order the letters to spell a type of fly:

Example:  LAM_      _ROOM        LAMB  BROOM

ARROY_ _NAGER
ALUMN_ _VAIL
SHAR_ _ILL
SKI_ _AIL
FLA_ _RACE
SPA_ _AILED

Answer:

The kind of fly is DRAGON -- a dragonfly.

This puzzle is hard because SHAR_ and _ILL can be SHARK and KILL, SHARP and PILL, or SHARD and DILL.  SKI_ and _AIL can be SKIN and NAIL or SKIP and PAIL.  Maybe it's easier to think of six-letter words for kinds of flies.  If DRAGON comes to you, then the rest is easy:

ARROYO ONAGER
ALUMNA AVAIL
SHARD DILL
SKIN NAIL
FLAG GRACE
SPAR RAILED

By the way, an "alumna" is a female alumnus -- a woman who has graduated from a college or university.
