Question 18

Four pirate captains (including Captain Neville), each of whom is responsible for a different ship, are in a remote section of the Indian Ocean.  Each ship contains a different number of gold doubloons (1000, 2000, 3000, or 4000), and each also has a different number of trunks (17, 20, 23, or 26) on board that are filled with silk and spices.  From the following information, see if you can match the pirates with the name of the ship they command and the number of doubloons and trunks they have on board.

1. The Poseidon has exactly three more trunks than the Zephyr.

2. Captain Barque's ship does not have 23 trunks.

3. The ship with just 17 trunks has fewer doubloons than the Halcyon.

4. The Black Wind has three more trunks than the ship carrying the least amount of gold.

5. Captain Drake's ship has 2000 fewer doubloons than the ship with 26 trunks.

6. Captain Corsair's ship has more trunks than the one with 4000 doubloons.
